Driving home the other day, I saw a sign that read: Donate Car. Skeptical at first, I wondered why anyone would want to donate a car, so I asked my mother when I got home. She explained to me that you can receive a tax credit if you donate something that’s considered valuable. I thought about it the whole next week. Not that I needed a tax credit, but I wondered if someone could possibly need this car more than I did. I called around and found out where these cars ended up after being donated. I learned that there are many needy people, families too, that can buy these cars at a discounted rate after they’ve been donated. I considered this and after thinking abut the people out there I could help, all the lives that could be changed by just one simple act I decided something: I didn’t care about anyone but me, and so decided to keep my car.
