Keep Food Longer

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

When you want to keep food fresher longer, a vacuum food sealer is probably the best way to do it. You may think that wrapping it in plastic wrap will do the job, but it doesn’t. Putting it in a zip lock bag is better, but still not as good as a vacuum food sealer.

The reason why is because when you store food the traditional way, air gets trapped with the food. Air will cause the food to lose color and taste. It will make your food dry out and then spoil. At that point you will not use it and throw the food out, wasting money. And I don’t think anyone can afford wasting money today. When you use a vacuum sealer, food can last up to five times longer. This will save you time and money in the long run.

Using a vacuum sealer is easy. Just place the food in the bag. Place the open end of the bag in the sealer. Press the vacuum button and it will begin to remove the air from the bag. When the air is out, press seal and the contents will then be sealed in the bag.

Two Quick Grilling Tips for Meats

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Grilling meats on an outdoor grill, or even a George Foreman grill for that matter, taste so good. It is easy to see why grills have become so popular over the years. That said, here is a couple of quick tips for grilling meats that will taste delicious and turn out wonderful on the grill.

The first tip is to marinate your steak or other meats overnight. Let them soak in your favorite marinade for several hours. This is why I like to let them do that overnight. You will be amazed at how good they will taste after grilling them. Letting them soak for 30 minutes is just not enough time to get the full flavorings.

The other tip is to do all you can to avoid flare ups on the grill. Of course, this will not be an issue on an indoor grill, but it is on an outdoor model. The best tip here is to keep the lid closed on the grill as much as possible. Flare ups tend to happen when the lid is off, and if you put it back on it will put them out.

Healthy, Happy, and Miraculous!

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

Synsepalum dulcificum, more commonly known as the “Miracle Fruit“, is a berry that, when eaten, will make any type of food that normally tastes sour incredibly taste sweet! If you simply cannot tolerate sour taste, whether it is a lemon, a lime, or any other type of fruit! Used around the world as a natural sweetener, it is low in sugar content and is accompanied by a mildly sweet taste that tickles the tastebuds. Its effects often last for an hour or more, meaning you don’t have to eat your sour dishes right away after ingesting the miracle fruit, but rather, you can wait for up to an hour before enjoying the meal!

Even if you do not have an aversion to sour, this additive is worth a try! Taste your favorite beers, eat a radish, slather your meal in hot sauce, or munch on a pickle after using the sweetener and open your mouth to a whole new world of taste!

Finding a Caterer

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

There are many ways to search for caterers such as a Los Angeles Caterer. You can search through the yellow pages, internet, inquire at your local cooking schools and ask friends and relatives for referrals. Narrow down your list of choices by choosing the best three caterers that you think can provide you the service that you need. Get quotations. Set an appointment so that you can meet with the caterer, discuss your catering needs and they can also present the services that they can offer to you. During the meeting, ask questions such as do they provide tokens and do they accommodate requests for special diet. Check how many food servers and bartenders they can provide, and do they have a valet for the parking lot. Do not forget to ask if they will provide the utensils, decorations and table center pieces, table cloths, do they provide extra servings, what dishes they can provide, and most of all ask what is the payment arrangement. Usually you will be required to make a partial payment and pay the remaining balance before the party.

Can Coffee Items Enhance Alertness?

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Every time I am exceptionally exhausted, I have a go with trying to find various tips on how to increase my energy as well as remain vigilant. A lot of persons take the quick option to get energy beverages or buy gourmet coffee which is generally full of a gigantic amount of caffeine. Despite the fact that this is the most straightforward route to increasing energy, I began to discover that most of your rich caffeine products supply the most effective way to keep you alert if you are very worn out. When I was a student in college, I in no way considered myself as a significant coffee consumer. On the other hand, while you are staying up for a lot of the night researching, you may sooner or later mature to like coffee and rely on it as being a power booster. I had to put aside my thoughts against gourmet coffee and give it a try.
